The Elmah component is used for error logging. The component allows the automatic logging of errors, e.g. in a log file. The default settings after installation create log files in the AppData folder for both the XBRL Portal and the XBRL Portal server. The configuration (e.g. e-mail notification) is controlled via the respective web.config files of the applications.
