The wizard for SmartNotes period management can be found under the menu item "Master data" and can be called up with the sub-item "Periods". The assistant can be used to create new periods as well as to edit and delete existing ones. In the "Period overview", all previously created periods of a document are displayed with their names. Periods can be related to each other, for example, the data is moved from the current period to the hierarchically subordinate comparison period when the document is updated [pre-roll]. This relationship of the periods is shown in the period overview via the order of listing and the indentation: Related periods are listed one below the other, with the predecessor periods indented. Predecessor-successor relationships play an important role, for example, within the Data View or, as already mentioned, when updating a document. After selecting a period name, further detailed information on the selected period is displayed in the lower assistance areas "Periods Details" and "Optional Information". When the administration of the periods is completed, the assistant can be exited with the "Close" button. |
