Ein Ribbon (englisch für das „Band“), Menüband oder eine Multifunktionsleiste ist ein grafisches Bedienkonzept für Anwendungsprogramme, das die Elemente Menüsteuerung, Symbolleisten und Dialoge miteinander verbindet. Ribbons kommen beispielsweise auch in Microsoft Office ab Version 2007 zum Einsatz, sowie in WordPad, Microsoft Paint unter Windows 7, in AutoCAD, Inventor und Snagit. Ab Windows 8 hat auch der Windows Explorer ein Ribbon.

Bei der Installation des SmartNotes-Client wird ebenfalls die Installation der SmartNotes-Ribbons durchgeführt. 

Sollte die Installation der SmartNotes-Ribbons nicht erfolgt sein, dann können Sie diese durch die folgende Vorgehensweise installieren.

Beachten Sie bitte auch die Informationen zu möglichen Ribbon-Effekten am Ende dieser Seite.

Die Ribbons werden mit der Version 3 neu entwickelt. In der Version 2.9 kann es deswegen sein, dass neue Funktionen (z.B. Programmieren auf mehreren Tabellenblättern) nur mit den Add-Ins zur Verfügung stehen.

A ribbon is a graphical operating concept for application software that combines the elements of menu control, toolbars and dialogues. Ribbons are also used, for example, in Microsoft Office from version 2007, as well as in WordPad, Microsoft Paint under Windows 7, in AutoCAD, Inventor and Snagit. As of Windows 8, Windows Explorer also has a ribbon.

When installing the SmartNotes client, the SmartNotes ribbons are also installed. 

If the SmartNotes ribbons have not been installed, you can install them by following the procedure below.

Please also note the information on possible ribbon effects at the end of this page.

Office außerhalb SmartNotes starten

Falls die Ribbons noch nicht in SmartNotes sichtbar sein sollten, hilft es, den SmartNotes Client zu beenden, um dann je einmal Word, Excel und Powerpoint ausserhalb von SmartNotes aufzurufen.

Der Aufruf eines leeren Dokumentes ist dabei ausreichend. Ein Speichern des Dokumentes ist nicht notwendig. 

SmartNotes installiert nun im Hintergrund die Ribbons für Word, Excel und Powerpoint.

Obgleich die SmartNotes-Ribbons auf über 90 Prozent der Systeme fehlerfrei funktionieren, mussten wir feststellen, das sie auf den restlichen Systemen zu Problemen führen, die sich dann in einem der folgenden Effekte zeigen:

  • Eine Installation der Ribbons ist durch den Anwender nicht möglich. Trotz Registrierung wird der Microsoft Anpassungsinstaller nicht gestartet.
  • Die Ribbons sind verfügbar, führen aber zu einer schlechten Performance
  • Funktionen der Ribbons werden mehrfach angezeigt 

Diese Effekte können durchaus nur bei vereinzelten Anwendern auftreten. Wir empfehlen in diesen Fällen die Ribbons auszuschalten. 

Im SmartNotes-Cockpit wird dazu der Punkt "Dokument\Einstellungen\Benutzereinstellungen" angewählt und dort die "MS Office Einstellungen" geöffnet.


Note
  • Auftretende Probleme mit den Ribbons können nicht kurzfristig gefixt werden. Dass liegt daran, dass die Probleme mit den Ribbons leider etwas „esoterischer“ Natur sind. Sie treten nicht bei jedem Anwender auf und sind insbesondere in unserer Testumgebung nicht nachzustellen.
  • Wir haben deshalb beschlossen, die Ribbons noch einmal komplett neu zu entwickeln und auf eine stabilere Grundlage zu stellen.
  • Für den Jahresabschluss 2021 muss mit den klassischen AddIns gearbeitet werden. Diese sind von der Funktionalität völlig gleichwertig.
  • Die neuen Ribbons werden mit der SmartNotes-Version 3.0 zur Verfügung gestellt.

Treten bei Ihnen Effekte auf, die nicht aufgeführt sind, so teilen Sie uns diese gerne mit. Wir werden diese dann bei dem Re-Design berücksichtigen.

Sollten Sie bei der Arbeit mit den Ribbons keine Probleme haben, so nutzen Sie diese bitte weiterhin.

If the ribbons are not yet visible in SmartNotes, it helps to close the SmartNotes Client and then call up Word, Excel and PowerPoint once each outside SmartNotes.

Calling up an empty document is sufficient. It is not necessary to save the document. 

SmartNotes now installs the ribbons for Word, Excel and PowerPoint in the background.

Although the SmartNotes ribbons work flawlessly on over 90 per cent of the systems, we have found that they cause problems on the remaining systems, which then show themselves in one of the following effects:

  • An installation of the ribbons is not possible by the user. Despite registration, the Microsoft customisation installer is not started.
    The Ribbons are available, but lead to poor performance.
    Functions of the ribbons are displayed several times 

These effects may only occur with a few users. We recommend to switch off the ribbons in these cases. 

In the SmartNotes cockpit, select the item "Document Settings" and open the "MS Office Settings".


Note
  • Problems with the ribbons cannot be fixed in the short term. This is due to the fact that the problems with the ribbons are unfortunately of an "esoteric" nature. They do not occur with every user and cannot be reproduced in our test environment.
    We have therefore decided to completely redevelop the ribbons and put them on a more stable basis.
    For the 2020 annual accounts, we have to work with the classic AddIns. These are completely equivalent in terms of functionality.
    The new ribbons will be made available with SmartNotes version 3.0.

If you experience effects that are not listed, please let us know. We will then take them into account in the redesign.

If you do not have any problems working with the ribbons, please continue to use them.
