Seit SmartNotes Version 2.9 ist der Active Directory Searcher Teil des SmartNotes Servers. Mit dieser Anwendung können Sie den korrekten Zugriff auf Ihre AD Konfiguration testen.

Starten Sie dazu bitte die ActiveDirectorySearcher.exe im SmartNotes Server Verzeichnis. Im nun geöffneten Fenster können Sie Ihre AD Einstellungen eintragen. Multiple ActiveDirectory entries can be configured in the ActiveDirectoryConnectionSettings section. SmartNotes can retrieve information about AD groups and users from these entries.

Usually one configuration entry is sufficient. More is only needed in case of an AD-Forest configuration. A configuration entry contains the following attributes:

Entry - ActiveDirectory Organisation Unit entry where the groups and users can be queried by SmartNotes.
UserName - part of the user data in case the communication with ActiveDirectory is done with identity change. This is a rare case. If your server is in the domain, leave the credentials blank.
Password - Part of the password credentials. The password should be encrypted. Please call the SmartNotes.PasswordEncrypter tool from the same folder with your password instead of mypassword SmartNotes.PasswordEncrypter -p:mypassword.

Multiple ActiveDirectory entries can be configured in the ActiveDirectoryConnectionSettings section. SmartNotes can retrieve information about AD groups and users from these entries.

Usually one configuration entry is sufficient. More is only needed in case of an AD-Forest configuration. A configuration entry contains the following attributes:

Entry - ActiveDirectory Organisation Unit entry where the groups and users can be queried by SmartNotes.
UserName - part of the user data in case the communication with ActiveDirectory is done with identity change. This is a rare case. If your server is in the domain, leave the credentials blank.
Password - Part of the password credentials. The password should be encrypted. Please call the SmartNotes.PasswordEncrypter tool from the same folder with your password instead of mypassword SmartNotes.PasswordEncrypter -p:mypassword.

Domain controller - Via the entry Controller="" LdapConnection="True" you can access domains that are outside the domain of the SmartNotes server. Since SmartNotes version 2.9 the Active Directory Searcher is part of the SmartNotes Server. With this application you can test the correct access to your AD configuration.

Please start the ActiveDirectorySearcher.exe in the SmartNotes Server directory. In the opened window you can enter your AD settings. You can also enter only parts of the AD tree to get a larger set displayed. You will then get all AD groups. Please double click on a group to load the users. You will find them in the lower part of the window. You will always find the complete tree here, which you can then also enter in the AD configuration in SmartNotes.
