If you are using an "On Premises" solution of the XBRL portal (in-house installation), there is the possibility to export data points of your XBRL filings directly into an SQL database. The data transferred in this way can then be analyzed and evaluated using third-party software. In this context, the product "Power BI" from Microsoft should be mentioned, which provides a wide range of visualization options. By default, the export of your data is triggered every night at 0:00 o'clock. The software checks whether there are new filings whose data points have not yet been transferred to the associated database. Only the most current version of a filing is taken into account. Old versions of a filing are overwritten. The following conditions must be fulfilled for the selection of filings:
- The taxonomy on which the filing is based has a table link base.
- The filing is new and has not yet been exported using the BI exporter.
- The XBRL of the filing is valid
Via the menu item "Tools → Data export" you can see which messages are suitable for the next data export. If you do not see the menu item, you may not have the necessary permissions. In this case, contact an administrator. The table in the "Open BI Exports" section shows the last 20 reports that are selected for the next nightly export. If you would like to manually trigger an export process for a single message, please click on the "Play" button. The process is started immediately, the exported data is usually available in the tables of the connected database within the next few minutes.
The button "Execute all BI exports now" triggers the process for all displayed (even more than 20) filings. By clicking on the "Reset all BI exports" button, all filings can be set to the status "not exported". This means that all relevant messages (see conditions) are taken into account for the next automatic run. Note: Depending on the amount of data hosted in the portal, the export of all filings can take several hours. All data is stored in the corresponding tables. If your message has static QRTs, these are written to the table "dbo.TableDataItems". Dynamic tables are stored in pre-structured tables provided for this purpose (e.g. "dbo.S06020101AssetPosition"). Currently, only the tables of the "Solvency II" taxonomy listed in the table are supported.
