Master data import

Import

At the beginning of the project, it is possible to upload the master data sets such as companies and tax codes from a CSV file using the available AMANA templates instead of manually entering them in the VAT@GTC. Individual master data can be added manually into VAT@GTC at all times.

This area is mainly used for the import of companies with help of [AMANA Company Import]. The contents of these tables can be defined in the [Interface configuration] dialogue and then uploaded in the [Master data Import] dialogue.

When importing, the validity of the individual entries is checked. If there are still errors in the file, a corresponding error message is displayed for the company.

If the import was carried out successfully, a list with an overview of the imported master data is displayed. The columns to be displayed can be selected via the function [Show/Hide Columns]. It can be checked here whether the master data was imported correctly.

Copy to target period

Subsequently, a period into which the master data is to be imported can be selected via [Target period]. The import into the corresponding period is done via [Copy to target period].

Good to know

Only periods from the country in whose context you are currently located are displayed. You can change the country via the start page under [Master data → Home].

When transferring to the target period, there may be conflicts with already existing companies in this period, or conflicts in the group structure, which lead to the transfer failing. Here, too, the problem with the file is indicated by a corresponding error message.

If the transfer was carried out successfully, the company dialogue is filled with the corresponding data.

Good to know

In the case of an extension of the tax group or the corporate group, for example, several companies can be imported via the master data import and added to a period. In the case of a tax group structure, it must be noted that existing, superordinate companies of the new companies must also exist in the template.
