Version 1.7: New Features

Multi-Taxonomy Tagging

In some jurisdictions (for example Denmark) the local authorities require ESEF reports not only to be tagged with elements from the ESEF-taxonomy, but also with additional elements from a local taxonomy. The taxonomy extension is still only being done on the ESEF-taxonomy, but the report itself contains tags from more than one entry-point. These multi-taxonomy-requirements might become more common in the future. With version 1.7 the XBRL Tagger supports the tagging of reports with two or more taxonomies.

  1. To get started just load the report and ESEF taxonomy as usual.

  2. Now click on the XBRL/Open Load additional taxonomies button

  3. In the taxonomy selection window just add the entry point of the additional taxonomy, for example: http://archprod.service.eogs.dk/taxonomy/20201001/entryDanishGAAPExcludingBalanceSheetIncomeStatementIncludingManagementsReview20201001.xsd

  4. You now have two tabs in the taxonomy window on the right, you can just switch between those and tag as usual

  5. Some taxonomies might require something called a Target, which tells XBRL that one iXBRL document really contains two different XBRL documents. In the Tagger, the target can be set in the XBRL/Manage Additional Taxonomies dialog:

  6. If you now generate a result document, the tags of each taxonomy will be validated according to the validations that are part of the source taxonomy. You will also find two XBRL instances in the reports folder, one for each target.

Label Handling Option

The Tagger now allows the user to choose the preferred label handling option. For more background, please read: Presentation Linkbase, Preferred Labels and Periods

The three options are:

  1. Use report specific labels and create those as labels with the Standard label role and a higher priority than the base taxonomy labels

  2. Use report specific labels and create those as label with the Verbose label role

  3. Use only base taxonomy labels (except for extensions) → if you select this setting, please make sure that all labels in the report have the preferred labele role "Standard"

Select Mapping Report Columns

In some cases the Taggers mapping report can be a bit overloaded with information. From version 1.7 onwards it is possible to select just the columns you want for you mapping report:

Of course, this selection is saved and can be adjusted anytime. We also added additional labels to the report.

Tag Hidden Elements

Some iXBRL reporting requirements might require the use of hidden elements. Hidden elements are values that are manually added to the XBRL report, but not part of the source report, so they cannot be tagged directly. With ESEF, hidden elements are not recommended.

To enable hidden elements in a report, just activate the setting:

The Tagger will now have an additional tab, where Hidden Elements can be added and tagged:

To add a value, just right click and select "Add":

Once a value has been entered, it can be tagged as usual per drag and drop:

Elimination of Hidden Facts

For some background about hidden facts please refer to this documentation: ESEF validations and their issues#Guidance2.4.1:Hiddenfactsand%22Eligiblefortransformation%22

We added a new option for the creation of iXBRL documents. With this option, all detailed layout information from tagged numeric facts will be removed to reduce the number of hidden facts significantly.

Please bear in mind that with this box checked it is not possible to have different styling within a tagged number, e.g. smaller digits after the thousand separator. We are working with the XBRL Specifiction Working Group for a change for the iXBRL standard to allow this in the future.

Import Reports That Have Not Been Created With the Tagger

You have used a full-service provider in the first year of ESEF and now would like to do the tagging yourselves? You are not satisifed with your ESEF-provider but don't want to start from scratch again? We have got you covered. With Tagger Version 1.7.1 you can simply import your created and published ESEF report package into the Tagger and easily move all tags and meta data to the Tagger:

Just open the package with the Tagger and your PDF/Word/epub/HTML file with another instance of the Tagger. Use the Mapping Clipboard to easily transfer the Tags from the package to the source document opened with the Tagger and you can continue working from there. This even works across languages:

Information

Please note that not every ESEF report can be opened in the Tagger. For instance, ESEF reports generated by the Tagger from PDF documents can't be opened in the Tagger. Please use the PDF.mapping files instead. Also note that sometimes ESEF reports generated by third party tools can't be opened. Due to invalidity or unsupported report architectures it might happen that the Clipboard Manger is not able to import all the tags. In this case please send the report to xbrl-support@amana.de and we will enable the import in future.
