In addition to the possibility of inserting entire tables from an Excel file into a Word file and using them in the result document, the SmartNotes Add-In can also be used to insert individual report values from the Excel files of the currently opened SmartNotes document into the continuous text of the Word files. The continuous text numbers [variables] are then not detached data but references to the actual report values. So if the values in the Excel documents are changed, e.g. by manual rounding or by a data import, the corresponding continuous text figures are automatically updated by their reference. A manual check or adjustment of the continuous text figures is therefore not necessary. In order to insert report values into the continuous text of a Word document, the corresponding Word file is first opened in the cockpit. To do this, the entry "Edit Word file" can be used in the context menu of the chapter - accessed by right-clicking on the chapter. Alternatively, it is possible to open the document by double-clicking on the Word symbol or the last modification date.
