In some cases, the sign logic used in the report differs from the regulator's requirements. In general, XBRL taxonomies, like IFRS taxonomies, require positive numbers to be reported for certain items, such as 'cost of sales' (ifrs-full: cost of sales). If the item is shown as a negative number on the balance sheet, it may be necessary to reverse the value in the XBRL report but continue to show it as 'negative'. In some accounting systems (such as SAP), all credit items in the report have a negative sign, whereas the regulator expects these values to be reported with a positive sign.

It is possible to change the sign logic for a single cell. The sign logic applied to a selected cell is shown in the "Sign logic" column on the "Tags" tab.

You can select one of the following five settings:

None: no special sign logic is applied. The sign can be overwritten, e.g. if the setting "Reverse sign of debit position" is active when generating the report and the tagged element has a debit balance.

If figures are reported in the footnotes of the Main Financial Statements, they must be tagged. To do this, it is necessary to them in Excel and insert them into the footnote as a continuous in Word. The programmed number can then be tagged in the mapping dialogue as explained above.
