For an optimal display and automatic updating of graphics and values within an Excel file and thus also within an Excel table in Word, certain requirements must be met within the Excel table. These include, for example, the use of names and name suffixes for certain cell ranges and columns.

In principle, it is possible to programme on several spreadsheets. For performance reasons, however, we recommend keeping the number of spreadsheets as low as possible.

Changes made in Excel can be previewed at any time without having to check the Excel file into SmartNotes. The preview is called up via the "Refresh" function.
To refresh the view, the button "Refresh" is used in the SmartNotes ribbon. The view of the Excel spreadsheet is updated according to the current, changed settings [e.g. retrieval of values from the database for updated programming].

In order to apply changes permanently, the Excel file must be checked into SmartNotes when exiting [Close]. Otherwise, changes made and programming will be lost.

Note

If changes are made to the programming, the file must first be checked in so that the "Refresh" function can take effect.
